In most cases, it's really a competent romp through a group of action setpieces happening pre and post the film. You guide your dual protagonists (either Wesley in the present, or his father Cross during flashback sequences) through firefights full of curving bullets and a lot of foul language. The plot requires rival branches with the Fraternity and Wesley's mysterious mother, but seriously, I don't watch or play Wished to keep track of its internal canon -- I actually do so for that crazy stunts and curving bullets.

The game pulls off its movie-inspired moments pretty much. The moment-to-moment gameplay is somewhat like Gears of War, but with more interesting options simply because you're a lone super-assassin, not just a burly, space marine squad leader. How can you flank someone alone? Use blindfire to suppress the enemy, and quickly move behind cover to some more opportune angle. How do you remove a rival behind cover without a grenade? Curve a bullet around said cover.

Wanted's distinctive bullet curve just takes a charged Adrenaline meter (which is filled by killing foes) as well as a press in the trigger/bumper (determined by your gaming platform). Then, you have a handy guide that shows your bullet's trajectory and whether your shot will connect you aren't. Line up correctly, and you will probably either hit the man and force him to stumble away from cover hurting, or perhaps you take him out in one shot (the latter usually leads to one of several "follow the bullet's perspective in slow-mo" sequences that occur through the movie frequently). Or make use of your Adrenaline for bullet time, reducing the experience to let you move in one cover place to another. With more experience, you can use these abilities to get enemies effectively while replenishing your Adrenaline meter to tug off yet more cool kills.
