For the uninitiated, the Nanosuit could be the hook inside Crysis universe, that thing that sets the franchise apart from its competitors which is supposed to stop us coming back for more. Also it hooked me in Crysis 2 considerably more than in the initial game (i enjoyed but didn't love), a beautiful first-person shooter that ultimately felt much more an extended tech demo when compared to a fully realized game. In Crysis 2, the Nanosuit is without a doubt the star of show, somehow managing to eclipse the stunning graphics that the franchise is recognized for, while simultaneously never making the action feel too easy. This really is Exhibit A inside debate for substance over style, proof-positive that fun gameplay will (and really should) always trump shiny visuals.

Crysis 2's story is substance-heavy also, weaving together conspiratorial narrative threads involving an alien invasion, the outbreak of an horrible epidemic, plus a potentially evil megacorporation, all framed by the most realistic visions of latest York City ever glimpsed inside a game. The storyline will make sense even to series newcomers, though I could not help feeling like a bit more explanatory exposition (away from an all-too-brief opening cinematic) could have helped make earlier parts ofthe overall game more impactful.
