Just Cause 2 takes that nugget of fun, and helps it be the main focus of the company's sandbox. Story missions are just unlocked once you have caused enough chaos, and you also earn Chaos Points through many activities including growing government property like fuel depots, killing military colonels dotted into the spotlight, completing race challenges, finding all the collectibles in a location, and running missions first of three factions on the fictional island nation of Panau.

The storyplot in mere Cause 2 is not as complex or original as it might be. You're Rico Rodriguez (a great departure from the typical WASP hero) and you also benefit the "Agency." The American government supplies you with to Panau because its president was recently overthrown, along with the Agency has lost contact with its one, um, agent there, Tom Sheldon, your mentor. Aside from an introductory mission, your only mandate is to use a few faction leaders and obtain on their own advantages in order to assist you to hunt down Sheldon. There follows the cliché introductions (Hello, I'm So therefore and i am the best in the Blah Blah Blahs) and somewhat meaningless missions.

Like too many games today, you start out by skydiving but the game does almost no to spell out the physics. I died the 1st Much I jumped because I couldn't learn how to pilot parachuting Rico to the landing spot on the surface of a mountain. This became incredibly frustrating, which isn't the emotion you would like to give your player during the first minute in the game.
