Making History experimented with bring an even more educational way of the World War II grand strategy game by promoting the economic aspects of global warfare. This can be due in no small part on the game’s partnership with a few guy from Harvard. Games working to make us learn? What’s next, gimmicky add-ons for idiotic consoles? The initial game was a nice effort but incomplete: a fixed number of countries, poor military controls, and questionable AI. Offering hot grand strategy action from 1933 through Wwii, Making History II: The War around the globe hopes to rectify the mistakes of history and offer a far more user friendly procedure for the grand strategy genre, unlike a few other games where I avoided reviewing an expansion on account of (a) my distaste for the majority of (but not all) expansions and complexity of said series. Allow blitzkrieg commence!GRAPHICS AND SOUNDThe biggest improvement produced in Making History II influences graphical department. The 3-D map looks quite nice, offering up detailed terrain that simply bests the competition.

The cities and resource locations populate the international map can also indicate which production and goods can be expected. Unit models are recycled per country, leaving simply a base counter for nationality identification purposes. Different units looks, well, different, but an American infantryman looks as being a German infantryman (there should have been significant confusion throughout the war!). The device animations may also be very slow-motion and repetitive. As the map looks good, the units that walk on the map could use a lot more variety. The sound design is acceptable: while Making History II lacks notifications for in-game events, the results during battles along with the background music work and functional. To get a grand strategy game, Making History II looks superior to most.
